Couldn't get an appointment on line. Went to dmv, it says appointment only on sign outside but after asking for an appointment, was let in almost immediately.

I was so fed up with attempting to scheduled an appointment to renew my license, I physically went to the Florida City DMV office and explained my plight to the worker and state trooper. They kindly allowed me to enter and I was able to renew. BTW, I went in late afternoon and the place was empty.

Inside there is a free driving handbook for Florida driving test , you will need that one to sit for knowledge test.If you paased knowledge test at first attempt then you just need to pay 25-50 (can not remember) dollar for provational driving license. If you passed knowledge test you give behind the wheel test (road test) in same day. Both knowledge test and behind the wheel test for first time is free (wonderful Florida).
