This is a tiny station but has easy access. I've traveled many times and I've never had any issues other than train delayed a couple times. But I always use the Amtrak app to check train status before leaving. I love using Amtrak and will continue to do so.

Very basic waiting room station. Hard metal benches, vending machines, ticket/baggage counter, restrooms. No Wi-Fi. Platform redone within the last year and extended.

The Amtrak web site is probably the worst I have ever tried to get information from. I tried the "chat" line and that was worthless. I'm going to try visiting the station and see if I can get information on schedules since nothing will appear on the site. This is about the fourth time I've tried to book travel. Waiting for an agent on the phone apparently is a one hour wait.

Is the station open now in Omaha
No the california zephhr does not. For full route check amtrak.com
Hi Gloria. I highly recommend using Uber or Lyft in Omaha. Omaha cabs can take a long time and can be u reliable. North of Lake St from Amtrak should be around $15-20. Also, considerably cheaper than taxi. Safe travels. Happy holidays!
Yes. The platform and station are easy access (very slight ramps) from the parking lot. The restrooms are fully ADA compliant. I am assuming you will be riding on the lower level. And the conductor can assist with a ramp if needed for boarding.
No. Train departures are at 11pm (train 5) and 5am (train 6). The station closes shortly after the AM departure, allowing of course for delays. It is closed all day long and opens for evening train.
The train stopped there last Sunday when I went thru. I didn't get of so I don't know what was available.
I bought online. But they have ticket counter. Cash or card
Is there a safe place to leave my car?
Generally all security checkpoints are carried out at the ticketing area. Mostly to assure luggage compliance and safety measures are met. Aboard safety checks do occur on occasion to assure passenger safety.
Book a ticket on the California Zepher. Leaves Chicago everyday around 2. Headed west through Omaha.
I have only seen when the train just stops for fifteen minutes or so on its way through to the next stop.
Mop
Any car rentals in omaha
No
No lockers at the station
Yes, you can also buy them online through the am track website, fair warning there is no one present to sell tickets till the arriving and departing times usually around 2 am
west bound 11pm
For the least expensive price i would suggest using a ride sharing service like uber or Lyft, if you do not mind waiting there is a bus service that runs a few blocks away from the station
Not without changing trains in Chicago and DC
I'm there quite often and speak with the Amtrak agents on a regular basis. I've never heard of any cars being broke into. The lighting in the parking lot is a little dim and it's not in the greatest area, but I still believe it would be safe to park your car there for the week. A deterrent for would be thugs may be that there's a news station next door with workers in and out around the clock, plus, they have cameras all around their building. There's a lot of train traffic in the area too, which may also be a deterrent for thugs. I recommend parking between the news building and the station near the train tracks if you're going to park there.
Double check your dates
