It is ok to paint over your brick. Painting brick is becoming very popular, especially in homes where the type of brick used colors that won't match the house paint. Brick can be painted, limewashed or even what is called a German Smear. Brick is not something that can be removed because it's usually part of the foundation, so painting over it could help you get the look you want for your home.

It depends if the gray is an accent or the main body color and what the trim color will be. Repose gray for the lighter body and Gauntlet gray are a combination we put on many houses.

We offer both pre-finished or Color+ James Hardie or can install it primed and then paint. Both options have benefits and disadvantages. Obviously installing it primed and painting will open up a larger variety of colors, but the pre-finished color will last longer before it needs to be painted again. We are always happy to quote it both ways for you.

Vinyl siding is basically a plastic material. It's a maintenance free product since you don't have to paint. Prior to some recent supply-chain issues it can be a lower cost option for siding. It does fade over time so picking the right color is important or at least something to keep in mind. Another low maintenance product to consider is metal siding. You don't have to paint it but it does offer some nice options. Fiber-cement such as James Hardie is very solid, dependable property as long as the installation is done by trained and experienced professionals. The product is hail resistant, fire resistant and woodpecker resistant (big problem with wood siding). You will have to paint it over time, but we use high quality paints to ensure you get as much life out of your paint before having to paint again. Our opinion is that fiber cement, (mainly James Hardie) is the best option, but vinyl does offer some benefits.
