Hawthorne has taken care of my pets for about a year now. I've had 2 emergency visits with them for my dog. Their emergency rates are higher than I had hoped and each time the rate was more than the last. This is just the after hours rate, not counting the exam and meds. Now, I have an emergency with my cat and the emergency rate has gone sky high! $340 just to look at my cat? Why? It's impossible to afford this place any longer nor is it about the animals. It's all about the bottom line.

I wish I could give them zero stars honestly. My sister called me and told me my cat was seizing. By the time I got there he had already been seizing for 20 minutes. It was then 35 minutes to the closest vet that was open. They wanted to charge me 360 dollars for an emergency fee which is ridiculous all on its own and taking advantage of people in a desperate time. I knew he was gone and any medical professional would know with him seizing as long as he was but they still offered to see him for 360 not including diagnosis. Luckily I knew better but there are some people who would pay it out of hope. They then took him out of my arms without me getting to say good bye. Left him in the back seizing until I was done with the paperwork then wanted to charge me FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS to be able to go back and be with him while they killed him. I couldnt afford it so my cat had to die without me and I didn't even get to say goodbye. Talk about exploiting grieving people over their dying pets. Absolutely ridiculous that they get away with this.

Took my American Bully in for an emergency I thought was a stroke. 385 dollar emergency fee. They said no not a stroke. They said bulging disk or pinched nerve. Sent me home with muscle relaxers for her. Followed up with my normal vet few days later and sure enough she had a neurological stroke. Unfortunately by the time I got to my vet it was to late. If they would have listened to me and done thier jobs properly I would still have my baby girl. Due to thier inexperience it cost me my beloved baby girl. I do not recommend this vet at all. Only gave 1 star as I had to other wise would be -5
