They helped a friend of mine with their water and electric bills

Lora is who the lady who assisted my friend with being put on a budget for his the electric. She was extremely helpful right from the start. Even after there was a miscommunication between LEADS & AEP. She had no problem getting to the bottom of the issue and resolving it.

I regret not going down there sooner in fear of rejection of not having any funds available to just not fitting the requirements to get financial aid for my energy Co-op I couldn't get down there until they were about closed and the one girl that helped me stayed past closing time was very friendly very informative and helped me figure out some roadblocks that I thought May disqualify my application her manager figured out a way to get the proper information they needed and was very helpful brilliant team great service for the community

Hi Betty, we are sorry to hear about that. The "Summer Crisis" program for air conditioning begins on July 1st. In the short term, we recommend calling 2-1-1 to see if they are aware of any programs available now. If you are a senior citizen (60+), please contact the Licking County Aging Program to see if they are aware of any programs. I will forward your question on to staff to see if they have any other suggestions. Take care!
The state's website energyhelp.ohio.gov has an option for submitting information online, but, for better services, we recommend submitting documents physically when possible.
Hi Cevilla - thank you for reaching out to LEADS Community Action Agency. Since you have a disconnect notice, we suggest stopping by our offices at 160 Wilson Street in Newark during regular business hours. We may be able to delay the disconnect while your application for assistance is being processed. You can also start the application process online at https://development.force.com/eap/s/login/?ec=302&startURL=%2Feap%2Fs%2F. Take care!
Hi Jim, applications are available at our 160 Wilson Street location or you can call us at 1-833-232-1751. Take care!
Hi Cynthia - Information about and the application for PIPP is available on the State's site at https://development.ohio.gov/is/is_pipp.htm. Information on how to contact LEADS directly regarding utility assistance is available at http://leadscaa.org/how-to-apply. Also, LEADS has rental and mortgage assistance available for eligible Licking County residents. For more information, please visit our website at http://leadscaa.org/ohios-home-relief-grant. Thanks!
Hi Robert - I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty reaching LEADS. Please call 740.345.3133 and we will connect you with the resources you need. Take care!
I know they help with gas heating an electric not sure about housing. I have heard of Metro who might be able to help. An there is apartments that are based on income in Newark but I dont know the qualifications needed.
If you do go there for help wear a mask real catch the flu or some kind of virus the building is old used to be an old Grain Mill turn into an office / Head Start worked in the building I've been sick for over a week with the flu virus nearly died
For best assistance, they recommend the walk in hours (8-10), but are open until 4 for appointments
No, St Vincent De Paul down the street from Leads is a food pantry though
no, the local food pantries are divided by address so depending on where you at will determine where you can go. There is an emergency pantry at salvation army on east main that you may visit every 3 months and at the old Everett school every friday for anyone. your lical pantry is 15 visits per year, 1 per month and 3 emergency visits. if youare near downtown most likely you will go to the pantry located behind the water dept. on 5th street which is wednesday and saturday 10am to 11:45 -
I they it from 8 am to 10 am
The last time I went in without an appointment I was told to come in at 7:30 in the morning. They open at 8 and take the first 10 people. It works best if you have all your paperwork together. Makes the visit go quicker.
Not responsive to African American Community. Very little assistance in ELDERLY population on the East Side.
