Positive: Historical value. Starbucks nearby. Comfort of bed. Location. Negative: When we arrived, it was pouring rain. There is no awning or location to unload where we wouldn¿t get wet. Also, we were approached by several homeless men when standing or sitting directly outside of the hotel who asked for food and money.

Loved this hotel, beautiful outside and inside. Friendly staff. Only complaint was that I wish we knew ahead it would be a $100 deposit on the room to get back much later. Otherwise, great roof top bar, location is exceptional. Comfortable bed. City view was nice.

Outstanding historic building formerly a bank. Lobby has the original bank vault which leads to a cozy bar. Beautiful corner suite with views of downtown. Room was very clean, staff were friendly and ready to make recommendations for the area. Hotel has an amazing I got rooftop bar with amazing city views. Tons of great restaurants all within walking distance, very clean and safe downtown area. If you manage to travel on the weekend they have a street market every Saturday every week of the year with lots of art vendors, food truck, fresh flowers and musicians. There is valet parking that cost $24 a night plus tips. No restaurant on premises, loved our stay and definitely will stay again!

We stayed here 1 night, 05/30/22, on our way to St. Augustine, FL. for our 5 year anniversary. We stayed here because it was within walking distance of the SC State House. The location was great and seeing the historical value of the hotel itself was neat. However, we stayed on the 6th floor and it was so hot! The AC only went down to 64° and it took forever to cool off. The thermostat was turned to “off” when we walked in. The shower was small. I enjoyed the bed, I had to crawl up in it! We enjoyed the original wooden floors. They creaked and squeaked which added character to the room. Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay but it wasn’t an overly excited to come back stay either. Luckily, we chose to park in the public parking deck one block over & did not pay for valet parking. We saved roughly $15 by doing this. Also, I do not recommend eating at Stoners Pizza Joint across the street. The pizza was over cooked & hard as a rock. The “breadsticks” were pretzels and dry and just as hard as the pizza. However, the deli right around the corner had good food, with a great variety!
