My father received care from Right At Home through the VA for close to TWO YEARS. We had the same caregiver for most of that time. Fifteen minutes before the caregiver was to show up the agency called and told me they were discontinuing services because I was "dissatisfied" (the caregiver didn't show the week before). I was very clear I wanted to continue services, but Kayla (manager) immediately contacted the VA to reassign the case. I told her I wanted to speak with the owner. It's now going on close to four weeks and (a second agency started but couldn't deal with my dog so now waiting on a third agency.) I sent THREE EMAILS and made numerous called to try and speak with the owner. Last time I called the receptionist told me the owner was on the phone, but then Kayla called me back a few minutes later and told me the owner was out of town all week. A week has passed and there was no return call. Right At Home doesn't follow their own "Client Bill of Rights and Responsibility." I was never "promptly and fully informed of any changes to the service plan." They offered me 10 extra hours, but I'm down close to 40 hours. Totally unprofessional and unnecessary stress dealing with my father who has dementia. The owner lack of response is hard to fathom and Kayla certainly didn't treat me with "dignity, courtesy and respect." My father lost his caregiver of two years. He still "knew her voice" and the lack of skill and compassion from Right At Home was totally unnecessary. When I asked Kayla what happened to the caregiver who had been with my dad she refused to answer. During the close to two years Right At Home never once came to visit and check on how things were going and then literally 15 minutes before they were to show they quit.

Right at home is a business that takes care of the elderly in there home. I never heard of them buying a plane or bus ticket for the homeless.
