They run these ferries so smoothly. It’s a well oiled machine! And the ride is smooth!

Orient Point is far more expensive than other ferry’s. You’d think charging $114 for a car + 2 adults would allow enough money for a decent website. NOPE. I went to book a reservation. The websites said they were 3 car spots left. In the 30 seconds it took to check out, all of a sudden it’s sold out. This is AFTER I put in my credit card information. The website is slow & looks like something an 8th-grader would create in their graphic design class. The Bridgeport to Port Jefferson ferry is better.

Yes you can take your pet. Cats have to go in carriers . Dogs on leashes . Leashes I recommend you have attached to your self and to dog . I would recommend keeping a close eye on your dog. Some people are alegick to pets . Some people do not want dogs jumping on them. Ct State law says you have to be able to hold your dog back when dog is pulling hard. One last thing before you go on ferries walk and give your dog some water. Also be kind to your pet. A lot of family member in my family have pets. One last thing I am not shore about laws for dogs in N.Y.
Weekdays 5:30 AM To about 8 and weekends 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Time can change if there is bad weather. I would check theit monthly schedule on their website.
Very safe , you have guards at entrance of parking area
Yes they usually allow that
Yes. There is a lot by the ticket booth and a parking garage across the street.
The Cross Island Ferry is in fact the best way on motorcycle to go your word all that traffic in the city and it's a nice relaxing ride. And they're Chicago dogs are not bad either LOL
Winter is about10 each way m-th, and 13 on weekends. https://www.longislandferry.com/pdf/monthlyschedules/2020/December%20Boat%20Schedule%202020.pdf Summer has more trips.
To go from Long Island to Block Island you can take the ferry from Montauk. Thats direct!
It goes between Orient Point and New London. There is another one that goes between Bridgeport and Port Jeff on LI as well
Car and Driver are one fare Each passenger pays the walk on passenger fee. You can look it up on their website as well to find out the exact amount
An hour and a half, but you should allow for 2 hours, since the road past Riverhead becomes just one lane, and there's always a slow poke that you can't pass.
Just ask "Mr. Google" for details, the fare depends on different circumstances, or have an look in their webside.
Yes, at ticketing you can enter overall length height and width of the tractor trailer
You can go into their office, at the dock, and pay their fee before boarding the boat.
Depends on what direction. There are over a dozen east and west of the ferry terminal off I 95
Specifically school buses? I don't recall ever seeing one, but I've seen motor coaches and 18-wheelers.

Orient point. The far far east end of long island. From bellmore, prob 1.5 hours or so? Google map can help you with that.
What the others said. ... There used to be a ferry from Woods Hole, MA (in the "heel" of Cape Cod) to Martha's Vineyard.
you can keep your car in the parking lot for free on the Orient side but you have to pay for parking on the Connecticut side in a parking garage and I hear it's not cheap
It's helpful to have reservations. Like prior post if you get there early they try to get you on before people who do not have reservations. I would make them if you want to make a certain ferry.
Walk on you dont need a reservation. For cars its recommended you buy tickets in advance because theu can aell out, particularly on weekends and heavy travel days.
I would probably go into the office and ask them directly in there since you're at New London already I don't know why you would ask somebody on here when there are people actually at the New London office to answer that question
Check in with them at least 2 hrs b4
Free on Long Island
