After speaking with Paul on the telephone a few times and finally meeting him in person at his law office I have been, initially, very impressed with his 37 year legal career and his more than fundamental knowledge of the law relating to this instant matter. I am very comfortable speaking with him about this very bizarre Eviction matter that has stressed me out and compromised my already poor health for almost seven (7) months since serving me a Notice To Quit Possession on or about 8 DEC 2021, and this matter going all the way back to August of 2021 when the landlord’s son failed to take preemptive measures to avoid a flood taking place in my rental unit when he could have done so and he should have done so. I highly recommend Mr. Carty. I hired him to resolve a tenant/landlord issue for me. He explained the law in a clear, eloquent letter to all involved. I wish I could hire him to handle all my legal affairs!

You can file a personal injury claim to seek compensation for the damages that you have sustained, which may include property damage and lost income. However, to receive compensation for your physical and mental injuries and your pain and suffering, it is best to have objective evidence that you were injured.
Connecticut courts are delaying many non-emergency cases through continuances. Check with your attorney or the court clerk to see if your case has been delayed. You may also be required to conduct court business over the phone.
If you were recently injured, you must take all steps to protect your health and your claim, including seeking medical attention for your injuries and following your doctor’s orders. You should also work closely with an experienced personal injury lawyer who can help handle the details of your claim while you focus on your recovery. If you have recently filed a claim and have not heard back from the insurance company or your claim was denied, contact me to schedule a free consultation.
Police usually need to obtain a warrant before making an arrest. However, there are some important exceptions, such as if the police officer witnesses you committing a crime. If the officer has reliable information that you have committed a felony, he or she can first arrest you and then apply for a warrant. Police can also arrest a suspect without a warrant if they are in hot pursuit of a suspect or exigent circumstances are present.
A pretrial conference is a court hearing that occurs before a trial. It helps resolve any trial issues before the trial begins, such as issues involving which evidence will be admissible or if a search was legal. The judge may also rule on pending motions at this time. After this conference, your lawyer will be able to give you a better idea of what to expect at trial and whether it is in your best interests to agree to a plea bargain.
An arraignment is the first court hearing that officially begins the criminal procedure process. The charges against the defendant are read to him or her. The defendant pleads guilty or not guilty. Typically, all defendants will plead not guilty at this stage as there is no advantage to pleading guilty. The arraignment typically occurs within 72 hours from the time of arrest.
After you are arrested, you have the right to remain silent and to refuse to answer the police’s questions. The police must inform you that anything you say can be used against you in court to your own detriment. You also have the right to contact an attorney. A public defender can be appointed to your case if you cannot afford one, or you can choose to hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer.
