I have a covered porch that was covered in 100 years worth of thick layers of old paint. The crew came and stripped everything down to bare wood and repainted. They used lead-safe practices and cleaned up meticulously. The guys worked tirelessly for a week. I was surprised at how well it turned out. The 100 year old deck looks almost like new, and they repaired loose pieces on the surrounding skirt.

New Haven Painters did an amazing job on the exterior of our house in Hamden. Great communication throughout, and a really good team of painters who produced excellent results. They replaced some rotten wood as well as painting, and I was so impressed with their work. I highly recommend them, and have already hired them for another (interior and deck) job.

Great detailed work, friendly and attentive painters. Can't beat the free annual touch ups for the next few years. Competitive price. They come highly recommended.

I recently re-sided my entire home and decided that it was time to update the color of our metal roof that covers the front porch of our house. New Haven Painters did an excellent job! They recommended quality materials that will last a good long time, and prepared the roof perfectly (washed, primed, etc.). While they were here, I also had them touch up white paint on columns and headers around the house. They matched the paint perfectly to the new Azek. It looks fantastic. Paul was tremendously helpful throughout the project. Lots of great recommendations and advice. I will definitely use them again. Very professional and reasonably priced.

The main disadvantage of oil-based paint is the strong odor, which is quite invasive, and the paint does take significantly longer to dry, so care is required with any dusty work, and ensuring that nothing is likely to make contact with the wet surface.
Latex paint is easier to work with and dries more quickly, but it isn't quite as durable as oil-based paint. Latex is good for general painting projects such as walls and ceilings.
They don’t highlight surface imperfections like higher sheen paints, so they usually don’t require as much surface preparation (like patching, texturing or sanding) prior to painting.
Sheen refers to the light reflectivity of the painted or varnished surface. There are varying degrees of sheen, from no sheen to high gloss. Though some paint manufacturers may refer to their paint sheens by different names, generally, from lowest to highest, paint sheens correspond to these reflective degrees: Flat finish Eggshell finish Satin finish Semi gloss finish High gloss finish
On interiors, after you have removed your delicate items, all areas or remaining items, will be covered with clean drop cloths or plastic sheeting. On exteriors, shrubs and surrounding areas will be protected so that no evidence of paint splatter or paint peelings remains.
Early summer and early fall usually offer up the best weather conditions, with minimal rain and minimal fluctuations in temperature from day to night. This will ensure the paint goes on smoothly and has the chance to dry and cure properly.
First, scrub a small area with a solution of household detergent and warm water. Rinse well and towel dry. Then soak a cotton ball, or soft rag in alcohol and rub it back and forth over the cleaned area. If paint comes off, it’s latex. If not, it’s oil based.
It will be easier to work in an empty room; however, if you do not have the opportunity to do so, empty as much furniture and knick-knacks as possible.
A rather unfortunate mistake that people make is to paint a surface that is still wet — this is typically the case after a surface has been cleaned using a moist cloth, for example. Not allowing a surface to dry will actually trap some of the moisture underneath the coat of paint, which will then cause extreme paint problems such as bubbling — a less than pleasant thing to see.
You may ask their favorite color and may combine their favorite characters to make it more interesting. It is important to seek their opinion while choosing a color for them.

Many types of paint can be used on kitchen cabinets, but some are better than others. Professional painters recommend alkyd paints with zero- or low-VOC content, or acrylic latex-based paint. As far as colors and finishes go, these are matters of preference.
Yes. You can try to tackle cabinet painting on your own, but you run the risk of making costly errors.
In order to get the most out of your painted kitchen cabinets (and interior painting in general), you must keep them clean and reduce the conditions inside your kitchen that might ruin your paint job, namely moisture, sunlight, and temperature fluctuations. Maintaining proper ventilation will reduce heat and humidity levels inside your kitchen, and blocking direct sunlight with curtains or shades will protect your cabinet paint from fading.
It depends on how well you maintain your painted kitchen cabinets and the quality of coatings applied in the first place. If you invest in quality coatings and stay on top of maintenance duties, your painted cabinets can retain their beauty for several years (as long as ten years or more). On the other hand, if your cabinets may begin to lose their color and/or peel in just a couple of years if you’re not careful.
Wood cabinets are ideal for painting, but any surface that can be scuffed with sandpaper can be painted. Special cabinet paints are available that provide a smooth finish, but any high-quality paint should work
Two coats of paint are essential for cabinets—you're building a surface. By the way, to get the nicest finish, use a brush, a 2- to 2 1/2-inch fine bristle brush.
There is no magical formula for drying time, but stick to at least 2-3 hours between coats.

Neutral Paint Colors. The classic white kitchen is sometimes frowned upon for being a little boring, but there’s good reason to opt for this color in the kitchen: It will never go out of style. According to Houzz’s trend report, 43 percent of renovating homeowners opted for white cabinets.
