This place is amazing. Best of all, it’s hard to get to but 100 percent worth it. If you are making your first trip out please make sure you let the air out of your tires to drive on the sand. Also, make sure you have a capable suv or truck that can get you out and back. You will be driving on soft sand for a few miles and yes a normal suv will get stuck. This part of Nantucket is untouched and full of wildlife. Seals often pop their head out of the surface of the water and stare at you if you are walking or driving by. Many will sunbathe on the sand. Be sure to keep distance from them. They are wild animals. All in all, if you have the opportunity to make the trip out, take it! It’s something you will never forget.

Only in the off season, not during the summer. The dates you can have your dog with you are posted at the gate house entrance.
Daily tours I think starting at 10am. Otherwise it's locked up.
