My mom was treated very disrespectfully when she ordered a sandwich and told the gentleman taking her order that she is allergic to raw tomatoes. The man at the counter refused to take her order until everyone currently in line, as well as the steady stream of people entering the cafe, had their sandwiches made. His reasoning was that he couldn't hold up 30 sandwiches being made for one person. All that needed to be done was wipe down a small area of the counter and have the lady making the food wash her hands. A two minute inconvenience at most. The guy taking the orders eventually tried to give my mom her money back and refused to make her sandwich and started telling at her in the middle of the restaurant. Can you be any less professional?? I highly recommend avoiding this cafe unless you want to be treated like garbage. To top things off both my boyfriend and I contracted salmonella after eating turkey sandwiches from this place. My entire family should be refunded for their purchases during this experience and they days of work missed due to the illness.

The decor is really nice--quality wood and brick. The food looks delicious though I wasn't hungry enough to order (I got a smoothie and bread pudding; not a healthy combo, I know). I will return for a meal next time. Worth the trip to the neighborhood as well.

Amazing food and great people who own it. Ashley was on duty and was amazing. Perfect "small" cafe in a historic Chicago neighborhood. Perfectly American!

Visiting the neighborhood in January but the restaurant was closed for the winter. We were disappointed. Hope to try this place some day.
