A great resource in Westfield - when they are open, which seems like never. At least 3 times in the past month I have loaded up my truck and went to the dump. Checked on the website and it says the center is currently"OPEN!" I get there... its closed. I am ready to pull my hair out!

The town gets an A+ for operating this facility and offering it to its tax paying citizens. Having said that, the “workers” who work at the site need to be reminded that the people who visit this site and use its services are the ones who pay their very generous wages and benefits!! These public servants need to be a little more flexible and a lot more helpful to folks using the facility.

This place is awesome. Do you need to coordinate your drop offs to their schedule sure. Should this place stick to it's hours of operation strictly? Yes, every business should. A convenient affordable way to recycle yard waste and a number of other stuffs too. Great service when they are open. I just got turned away yet again at 15 minutes to 3:00. They close early and it's my fault for trusting their hours. I should have gone earlier. Don't go last minute. .. They close early OFTEN!

I don't think so. Permit is for yard waste. If the A/C is scrap recycling then it's free
Yes, you have to buy a permit for grass, brush, etc... Also allows you to take the mulch they make
No. The county of Union has scheduled drop off of these items at various locations. Check the county web page.

The yard is open both Saturdays and Sundays through the summer/fall season. The hours change in the 'slow' months. Look at the bottom of their web page for the current hours.
I was there this morning too😩. The center hours was changed. "recycling programs are currently open for collection at the Westfield Conservation Center, Monday - Friday, from 9-12 only"

As it is... there are couple of huge industrial conteiners for separate disposal of paper, plastc and metal.
