I would have given this place a 5 star review. However the cashier that was working today was very rude. She said a very rude comment to my Mother in law. Then something very rudely to my Nephew who has Autism, who was doing nothing but just standing there while she paid. I grew up in a family who mined for rocks and made jewelry, so this place was an awesome find.

Lots of examples from all over the country (like a T-Rex skull from Montana) and the world (like Africa). It's great that the volunteers here are so knowledgeable and helpful. There are also some rocks and jewelry and books available to buy.

Handicap entrance is on 4th Street and not at traditional entrance that has a at least 18 steps to get there.

Great educational place. Enjoyed seeing all of the rocks. I learned about phosphorus rocks and how they are affected by black light. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The silvery stuff in rocks is most likely Mica.
We don't but there is an Native American show at the Lila Patterson building in Fletcher every year, usually in March. You can call and ask about the show and sale.
