1st off, how does this place get 2 stars on yelp and 4.8 on maps? Ok, Monroe Ortho is great but Mathews is a joke. Had back surgery before and Monroe was great. Scheduled an appt at Monroe but it was 3 weeks out. Was told Mathews can do anything there Monroe can do and you can walk in. What a waste of time and money. I don't know anymore than when I went in. Seriously, got a steroid pack. I could have got that from my Dr for free! No referral, no plan of action, no time frame, literally give me your money and good luck. I'll never go to any of these urgent care places ever again!

Molly Dudick is the worst physical therapist I have ever seen. I was her patient in 2020 after being referred to her by Dr. VanDerNoord for chronic neck and hip pain. Molly told me that there was no possible way my neck and hip pain/tension could be related. She prescribed me repetitive exercises for about two months and instructed me to continue them throughout my life. She also instructed me to incorporate neck [straightening] throughout every exercise and daily activity I do. I strengthened and [straightened] my neck via rigorous exercises, finding temporary relief in symptoms. After about two weeks of this, the pain moved from primarily the back of my neck, to the front and sides of my neck. My hip pain never improved, and actually worsened after the single-sided glute exercises Molly prescribed to me. I was reassured that these symptoms were all part of the healing process. Every visit thereafter, Molly was simply manually massaging my most painful areas by hand, while ignoring the issues I was having with the exercises and never even considering the root cause of my excruciating pain and tension. I only continued seeing Molly Dudick at that point for the manual massage she provided that gave me temporary pain relief, as my insurance copay for PT is much lower than out-of-pocket costs for massage therapy. ---------------------------------------- I recently was evaluated by a Neurologist, two Neurosurgeons, and an Orthopedic Spine & Hip Surgeon. My cervical MRI shows a complete reversal of cervical lordosis, which means I have completely lost the natural curve of the neck portion of my spine. Surgeons are predicting surgical spinal fusion within 5-10 years if I don't manually correct my neck through proper physical therapy and self manual therapy/exercises. I am 31 years old and was born with zero spinal deformities. I was referred to a different physical therapist, and just went in for my first appointment this morning. The new PT is confident he can help me both reverse and control this nightmare going forward, so that surgery is not needed and so that my pain level is manageable enough to function on a daily basis, plus stay physically active, as I love to be! The new PT also found in our very fist meeting that my right hip problems are directly related to my neck problems. Last thing..... Molly Dudick repeatedly spoke with Kristen Hammer, Physical Therapist Assistant, during every meeting I had with Molly. Most of this communication was small-talk about their personal and social lives. Molly would pause throughout each appointment, ignore me as her patient, and carry on long-winded conversations with Kristen, just about every time I was trying to receive PT help from Molly. **I am no stranger to OrthoCarolina, as Dr. Ward has performed reconstructive surgery on my wrist. My wrist was broken in three places, yet I made a full recovery after two surgeries. Dr. Ward's PA, Michelle Walker, along with the entire staff at Ortho Carolina's Hand Center, was very attentive and caring.** Two completely different experiences I had at OrthoCarolina Matthews and Ortho Carolina Hand Center-- Randolph ———————————— Wow….see automated response below. I called this customer service number and left two voicemails a couple days apart. Nobody has returned my call.

Hello Sharon, thank you for the note. Please contact our Privacy office so they can make this happen for you. If you call our Matthews office location they'll be able to direct you accordingly.
I’m having the same problem scheduling an MRI
Hi Janie, please contact the office directly so we can best assist you. Thank you.
No. Unless your insurance policy requires it. Otherwise you can just schedule an appointment on your own with whatever dr. youu want
I saw Kevin Brown, he is a physician assistant but he is a really intelligent man who cares and gives you all the time you need. Website says he is a shoulder guy but i had a knee problem and he diagnosed it and we went from there. But Ortho Carolina is awesome from start to finish.
They have machines that you can now sit & have the MRI. Ask then to schedule you for the last one of the day & you could also ask about a Sat appointment.
