The staff were rude and made my family feel unwelcome.

Normally I would have given 5 stars but people who have extended stays at Blue Oaks campground have created more of a homeless encampment than a fun camping experience. Garbage piled up around trees, tents and around the trailer was really an eyesore. Also really disappointed that our campground was trashy when we arrived but we made sure it was cleaner when we left. I understand it may be cheaper for a lot of folks to pay for extended stays at campsites than pay rent somewhere but I strongly believe those campsites must remain clean and tidy for that duration.

Nice, clean, beautiful views, and the parking spots are spread out pretty well.

Overall great camping location. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly, staff are friendly and easy going. We made several changes to our sites and the employees were understanding and accommodating. No real easy access to water except by boat launch was the only downside bit otherwise everything else was 5/5.

Yes I was there this past weekend around the blue oak recreation docks. That area was safe to swim and play in the water.

Are dogs allowed

Sorry no pets allowed at blue oaks. And yes its is sad for that being like that. Im guessing because of the wildlife over there. Like roaming turkeys squirrels snakes and whatever else. Also they probably don't want to have any lawsuit against them if the pets end up eating something that might be harmful to them. Also a predator animal that might want to eat them.

We have a first aid class March 13-14 for scouts. We booked H-88,A-1&A-2 Flem. Meadows, we noticed the group area in BlueOaks & it's perfect for class, however the price is too high. We have 30 people attending. Is this price negotialable offseason?

The office phone number is 209-852-2396. On the paperwork I don't see any discounts on group camping off season, just a flat rate $350.00 for blue oaks campground. They do have group picnic area that is $110. (Not exactly sure how that works? Maybe you guys can your class there since you already have campsites at no charge if no one is occupying the area? Give the office a call maybe someone at the facility can help you? Good luck!
