We love the views from this scenic rest area! Can't wait to go back again and have a picnic. There is a restroom 🚻 and picnic tables. We did miss the tower that use to be a central feature of this overlook, but the views are still amazing even without the tower.

Gorgeous view, and how great is it there is actually a spot to pull over? Get out and stretch your legs before you arrive to Galena, and snap some shots of this IL view!

A great stop just before reaching Galina Illinois. The view goes on for miles in every direction. It made for a nice unexpected stop. There are several picnic tables and restrooms. Well worth the stop!

I didn't even realize Illinois had such beautiful scenery. I thought it was all Chicago dirty like. You definitely need to make a stop here and take it all in.

Questions & Answers

What happened with the tower? Why was it taken out of commission? I had good friends in from out of the country we discussed this tower at length, we were very disappointed and embarrassed to see it was not accessible.

Took it down because of problems they have done it in Wisconsin too
