The history is incredible. The tour was self guided with a phone ap we didn't use. The informational signs were good and we learned from them. I would have liked the guided tour with someone local to the area. I would indeed recommend this experience.

Okay okay ... felt was overpriced considering scale of exhibits. Visual write-ups were good. One section was closed due to "COVID" which they should consider to reopen.

Sparse. The photos online display much that is not on hand. Disappointing.

You can walk through the Garden on your own, but for the house itself you have to buy the tour. The same price gets you to all three museums within one week.

What’s a good place to eat close to the house?

There are a ton of restaurants nearby, and it does depend on your preference. We suggest you start with google maps (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Owens-Thomas+House+%26+Slave+Quarters/@32.077381,-81.08928,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x516463c8c44409c9!8m2!3d32.077381!4d-81.08928) and click on the "nearby"tab and search restaurants. The main streets -Broughton St., Bay Street and River Street- are all nearby. The Pink House is the closest "nice" place and Zunzis is nearby and very casual/outdoor seating only. You cannot go wrong picking a restaurant in Savannah!
