This is not authentic Mexican food! Everything was very bland except for the chips that were very much over salted. And before the rude comeback- my husband and I are 35 and 41, we did not modify our orders at all. -Update- FOR THE OWNER WHO IS REPLYING we did not eat in the restaurant, we ordered pick up, so no we didn’t speak up in the restaurant because we were not there, no to go box was asked for, again, because we were not there!!! You are so rude, as all your other passive aggressive replies to paying customers with bad experiences! And for you to act like it’s my fault for not speaking up, how ridiculous! Trust me if I had ordered and ate there I would have! It is absurd that you would flat out lie about us eating in the restaurant and asking for to go boxes! Also, I wasn’t the only one who ordered food, so the quesadilla wasn’t the only issue, as I pointed out in the first part EVERYTHING was bland except the overly salted chips. Funny how you know what I ordered but portrayed me to eating in the restaurant, you should know it was take out, especially since I checked the box for take out on the first part of the review posted, but you try to make it look like everyone who doesn’t like the food is the problem instead of the food, we just didn’t like it! This is an honest review from patrons, sorry, you didn’t like hearing it!! As far as your reply saying you don’t claim to be authentic, let me refresh your memory with your own words- a response to another review- “Tortuga's is a quick and fresh, made-to-order restaurant. As a small, family-owned restaurant, we focus on offering authentic Mexican favorites made with fresh, house made sauces, guacamole and queso.” So you contradict yourself here.

I appreciate all these guys do! They are very busy and try very hard to keep the lines moving. The food is cooked when you order and tastes great! Best food on the island. We all appreciate how hard you all work !

Although they were slammed, we got our food in a timely manner(ordered to go) and it was delicious as always. We make it a point to go here every time we are in Edisto.
