Great day hike with pets and family. It's usually not too busy there and can walk around undisturbed. The trails are relatively easy. Really enjoyed wondering off the main trails and exploring. Just be warned there is some vulgar graffiti near some of the waterfalls. They try and remove them from time to time. The park is free to use. It's definitely off the beaten path though.

Definitely a gorgeous area to walk around in for hours on end. Some parts you gotta be cautious but I always have fun whenever I get to go βΊοΈ

Beautiful. Most definitely recommend for a day trip. We came late in summer, and most of the water pools have dried up. Still lots to see and bunch of really unique trees and plants in the area to view. Will be coming back, might wait and go in the spring when everything is full bloom.

Yes you can make it fairly easy. Just take your time, take water (plenty) of water.
Sure can, probably want a collar, leash, and vaccination tag. Please pick up your litter! Keep it clean for everyone please!
No camping allowed there . It's a day park .
Didn't see anyone on site at the parking lot. I was there three days ago
Yea about 1.5 miles there and back. Lots of side trails to explore.
Evis - I was there last night. My son and I arrived after the sun had set and it was just about dark. We made our way into the trail (which leads to the rock and is approx. 1/2 mile into the wooded area) because it was our first time there and we had driven 45 minutes to get there. We went in at 7:55pm and back to the car by 9:00pm. My point is - there's no park rangers to stop you (that I know). Be careful to not get lost though and the rock is slippery in many spots so keep that in mind as well.
Not really. 2 parking area's and you can just sit anywhere to picnic. We usually hike into the forest. There is a little bridge and some stumps to sit on. Also on the main area of the rock. There are fistures to sit on.
There is a beaver pond on a side trail, and a creek , the side trail gets pretty overgrown because not many people use it. It's easy to miss the trail, look to the left as you walk the trail from the lower parking lot. Parts of it are poorly marked, so be careful. No idea what kind of fish are in it, if any. Plenty of tiny crayfish in the stream running down the rock though, and presumably some in the lake and creek too... Not sure if they're big enough to eat.
There's no signage saying you can't
O ok. I've been wanting to check it out at night but didn't know if it was illegal or not to be there after dark. Im not trying to go to jail for wanting to hear the cries of a suppose to be baby ghost lol. Thank you.
My son has been there hunting, off the trail. According to him, and he is a SC resident, 40 Acre Rock is listed on SC's WMA list of public hunting lands.
Look on their website and it shows all the wildflowers they have if that helps any..thank you
It's about 1/4 Mike from the parking lot to the rock, but it's flat. The hiking trails might be hard for a person with mobility issues. But the top of the rock should be accessible, and worth the walk.
The Sprite that can be seen in spring after rain
