This is a dual restaurant. Once inside you are in a Cracker Barrel type store. Straight ahead is the cafeteria section which is very large. Just a few steps in there is a single door on the right which is the entry to the Hayley Bales steakhouse. It is a very rustic setting. I chose to order an 8 ounce ribeye with a side salad and stuffed potato and my usual sweet tea. The steak was very thin but was cooked just right and definitely tender and tasty. The side salad was pretty lackluster and the blue cheese dressing was thin and missing any chunks of cheese. The stuffed potato was absolutely amazing and I received a basket of warm bread which was good but no butter.. I enjoyed myself and the surroundings. However, my very young server would not take my payment at the table and directed me to the register in the store area.

I know this place has been in forever. The last time I went was before Google reviews even existed, don't go in here expecting 5 star steak dinner experience. But if your looking for a quality small town family owned steak dinner, this is thr place. Everything was great, steak cooked perfect, salad was fresh and cold, tea was great, they bring a big hunk of BBQ bread with your steak which is a southern staple, and the stuffed potatoes and ranch dressing were to die for. The real show stopper was their onion blossom, better than Outback any day. The staff was fast and very polite. We didn't have to wait long to eat and I was very impressed. Don't change a thing Haley Bales.

Grilled chicken was excellent, sweet potato and salad as well. Only two gripes. Mushrooms are straight out of a jar from somewhere like Walmart and the bread is just a typical packaged bbq bread loaf you can buy at Walmart. Pretty chintzy for a steak house.
