We adopted this lanky long-legged love bug from SBM on 09/11/21 in hopes of finding a companion for our Chaco (chocolate chi) after the loss of a dog who’d always been with Chaco. I found Liz and Scott after looking for Chihuahua Rescues based on consumer reviews and ratings on Google. Goodness knows I’d give them way more than 5 ⭐️s if I could! SBM genuinely cares about them animals. They give some much love, time and money to take care of animals who need to be saved, loved and placed in loving homes. After speaking with Donna, an SBM volunteer who assists with placing animals in the best home for each particular pet, based on the needs of the pet, then the wishes of the applicant, I knew I’d found an agency that truly loves animals! Liz and Scott offered advice and support when I had questions about how to best support and respond to the needs of a rescued pup. Our chi baby rescued by SBM has been a wonderful addition to our home, and companion/ sister to our other animals. Thank you!

Here goes! What can I say about Liz and Scott? First of all, I was very blessed to have met them through a friend's tag when I was trying to save a baby! Once we reached out to each other, we quickly became on each other's speed dial. (I like to think so) Not only has Liz and Scott become very important people to me, but they are such a huge asset to our community, and surrounding areas when it comes to animals! I myself do not have a legit 501c "Rescue" but I have spent the last 4 years putting everything into helping animals who come to me. Liz and Scott have taught me things I am so very grateful for and shared with me sorrows as we cried together. I am already unfortunately familiar with the bad side in rescue! So, we've had alot happen in a short year- but they have helped me personally save countless Furbabys of all ages! People like them are one of a kind, and I am forever blessed to continue to work with two of the kindest most caring souls around! Rescue work is HARD! I do not put in the 100% they do! It's much more than adoption days, it's fighting to rescue a baby, watching from afar as a dog suffers bc you HAVE to follow the law! It's finally getting that surrender! It's seeing dogs in the worst of shapes, some we are lucky to save, and with the help of our vets and fosters, bringing those dogs back, helping them love, and trust again or for the first time.. it's about when a baby is ADOPTED! Its about all the love and emotions that happen when it all comes together, on the good days! Sometimes, no matter how fast we are or how hard we try- some times it's to late...but in the end, I PROMISE they all know Love in it's purest form....They are loved. We love them. We fight for them. It's the ones who make it, who recoup with our help and go on to be adopted and live every single moment of their lives Smothered with love.... And that's what it is all about. One dog... One day at a time! If there is one thing I can say, please Spay and Neuter your pets!
