All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I absolutely fell in love with Sully, he was the perfect mid sized full grown pup for me (about terrier size and VERY SWEET)!! Unfortunately, my husband says we need to get another female fur baby to play with our other girl fur babies. I hope Sully finds a loving family that's kind of lay back and quiet, maybe someone like me that loves having a lap dog, they are the best!!

Where do you live?
Although their website says 5 to 7 days, it entirely depends on adoptability, health, crowded conditions. I got a cat fair that probably no one else would have wanted, he was a black street cat with torn up ears, but he is wonderful, and he had been there for five months. We are responsible for these animals, and they are safer at a shelter then people who don't want to feel guilty and end up putting them in a subdivision or in the woods.

This is an open intake shelter that some people call a kill shelter. This shelter has an amazing staff, however, and makes every effort possible to keep from having to euthanize animals.
We love volunteers! There is a ton of jobs that you can do at the shelter. You can walk dogs or help clean. The dogs and cats love the attention and the shelter workers love the help!
We are open Tuesday through Friday 10 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 2
We pick up cats too. We work with cat rescues like Hands for Paws to find homes for the kitties too.
Cats can be spayed at eight weeks old. If you live in Habersham county, the shelter is running a $20 spay program. Just call the shelter and they will hook you up.
