We stayed 3 nights in 2 rooms. The rooms are all unique and all have amazing views of Lake Superior! We had to extend our stay and Julie and Butch were totally accommodating. Butch makes a tasty breakfast and delivers it to your room! We will stay here again, loved it!!

It’s a beautiful spot, well maintained with friendly and helpful owners. Loved staying there and would definitely go back for future visits!

was in Duluth to visit family and had a marvelous stay at The inn on Gitche Gumee. The weather was cold and the ice far too thick for a girl from the South. But inside, all was inviting and cozy. Being kind of a girly girl more frequently leaning toward Victorian type lodging, I was anxious to experience a piece of the outdoors. My room was the Loon's Nest. It was quaint and Beautiful. I daily enjoyed the fresh flowers on the table by a window looking out over Lake Superior, it was a perfect setting to sip a cup of tea and plan theday, or to imagine the beauty of what the numerous flower gardens would look like in a few months time. I could imagine an author looking over the waves on that Great Lake and writing about the perils of sea travel in times gone by. Deer frequent the yard daily as Butch makes sure they are fed. The inn keepers, Butch and Julie Sievert, are as welcoming and friendly as any you will find anywhere. The Inn is immaculate. Guests want for nothing, Butch Sievert gets up at daybreak to make breakfast for his guests and they are delightful, I love the pancakes. in full disclosure, Butch's mother was my Mother's sister. That being said, I would not change my review one iota. I hadn't seen my cousin for over 20 years. We are both older and slower, our wits are not. Butch has had a multifaceted career but seems to have found his calling as an innkeeper. His beautiful Julie, as sweet as she is she is a driving force behind all the niceties off the Inn and it's function as a whole. With their vision and creativity they have built a masterpiece. I will be back to see the flowers blooming and feel the warm wind off the lake. I will count the days.

My husband and I went here for a quick birthday getaway this February and had the best time. Our room was so cozy and cute. Butch made us the most delicious breakfast and we left feeling like family.
