Great place to stay! Safe, quite and clean. Really enjoy living here, I resigned my lease. Also didn't have to buy a school parking pass since it was walking distance to campus.

I am a current resident, so I can attest that this review is true in all statements and accurate to my experience at Walden station student living. I would say that even though the rent went up this year, I really don’t have any issues with the apartment unit itself. I think it has fine amenities and decent utility policies. The maintenance staff specifically Jamar is awesome and super helpful. Generally though, it has lost a couple of stars for me because of the office and technology services surrounding payments and information. The office almost always closes a half hour before the posted hours, and is closed for their very long lunch breaks (definitely over an hour) which is almost always an inconvenience. Staff turnover seems to be high for the desk jobs (I’ve seen 4-5 different front desk workers and two on-site property managers in 2 years), and the current on site property manager acts like her job is an inconvenience and is usually visible annoyed with renters and with me personally. Cameras surrounding office are far and few between and some are also broken. Crimes of vandalism to my roommates car have occurred in the parking lot with no video evidence because the camera they said for him to park under after the first crime occurred was broken and didn’t record the second more serious vandalism. These crimes were reported and security in the parking lot has improved since then with a security officer usually on site at night, but it still happened. Finally, Brown investment properties (the company which owns Walden Station) has a loose understanding of the day-to-day at the complex. They have a finicky payment portal that with its glitches sometimes won’t properly charge me on time for rent even though I have automatic payment set up. This has led to late payments which I had no idea (and no reason to assume) weren’t paid, so I have to manually check to make sure everything is clearing properly every month. An update to their payment technology and general tech like website and WIFI would really help make the community better.

Wish I could give 2.5 stars, but 3 will do. Pros: Maintenance staff are kind Walking distance to UNC Charlotte, right next to Food Lion Security patrols at night Relatively quiet Fairly clean premise ordinarily Gym provided, although very limited and quaint Cons: Very cheap furniture supplied: Matress was a nightmare, bring your own. -Furniture falling apart on arrival -Was supplied a destroyed couch in terms of exterior -Desk actively peeling the plastic it was made out of -Chairs made of metal Student living, this means your neighbors haven't had a lot of time to mature and act correspondingly. Management is unresponsive and slow, not willing to critically think about solutions to problems you may encounter, -ex: Gave me the number of a phone scam line they had listed as internet support, took 4-5 months to resolve a Ring alarm issue that left my unit without alarm support for the duration while on the ground floor, completely ignored my request for a new matress saying it would take longer than my lease to get the matress. Matress was heavily stained from day 1 and had springs rising throughout both sides. Walls made of paper.

Went to go check it out and ask for a tour. After seeing the piles of garbage, I didn't even bother

Questions & Answers

what is the rental prices

Bert Grimmage | Sep 30, 2019
MacIver Lantz | Sep 30, 2019

I'm not aware of the rental prices for anything other than a single unit. A single unit is $914 that includes a pest maintenance fee. The apartment complex also has a pool, game room, exercise area, study area, tanning bed, dog park, courtesy officers, and each apartment has its own security system.

Are there a shuttles from the apartments to campus?

No, but complex is across the street from campus.
