Memorial hospital transferred My Father here the very first night I called and spoke to somebody to make sure that he was going to get fed and his medications I was told yes. Then 9:00 I receive a phone call from my father stating that they were not feeding him or giving him his medications so we had to go pick him up something to eat plus I was getting no answer at this facility so I called and had a wellness check done. Then the next day they're calling asking for us to bring his sugar checking machine now mind you this is a facility to provide medical treatment for elderly care. A couple days into this place my father fell out of a wheelchair and hit his head what bothers me the most when I got to the hospital that they transferred him to he said to me he didn't know how long they were going to leave him there laying on the floor. Then we made it decision not to send him back to this facility. My family and I made sure that he received his medications and food at my house. Folks if you love your loved ones do not put them in a facility as this one failed to comply and deliver the necessary care for our father. After talking to a team of lawyers if you have money to put your loved one in a facility that can care and provide the medical attention that they need I recommend doing that. Research and read the reviews before you or a caseworker makes the decision of where your loved one is going to be placed.

My dad was in short term rehab. It was a mess, patients sitting in hallways. No nurses to be found and if they helped they had a attitude. The meals came all different times and was always cold. My dad was discharged and no paper work was completed. I would never take him here again!

My father is a resident here and I was definitely concerned about it, as he was a resident at another nursing home that was absolutely horrendous. I am very happy to know that he tells me that he likes it here. Vanessa at the front check in desk is a beautiful soul. She is always friendly and loves giving my dad hugs. The faculty took all precautions during the pandemic and still require masks. My dad's nurses are compassionate and Keisha is top notch. My mom is a very important asset in my dad's care as well, following up with the nurses and bringing any concerns to the staff immediately. My dad said he enjoys his meals, for the most part. Any issues with the food temperature is resolved. If it's something he doesn't like, they bring him something else and if he's really hungry, they've offered him extras. He has several patient care techs that he adores, especially the ones that bath him. They take the time to shave him and make him feel brand new. He also loves the PT that come by and take him for walks. My dad is in a wheelchair and likes the freedom to roll around and talk to people. Occasionally, they have events for the residents, depending on covid protocol. They have a shuttle to get him to outside Dr. Appointment and the driver is very sweet. My advice in any medical /nursing situation is to always be alert. If you aren't happy with something, say something. Sometimes, my father doesn't speak up or forgets, but my mom and I make sure his needs are meet. Visit as often as possible, sporadically. Ask your loved one if they have any issues. Bring them things of comfort and to pass time. Enjoy going outside if it's not hot. Bring them a special treat. It's the little things. Be proactive and realize, that these nurses and staff are stressed and stretched thin, due to understaffibg and the pandemic. Work with them and they will work with you. My mom and Keisha are always in contact. It's comforting to know she's looking out for my dad. No place is going to be perfect unless you're a millionaire and can afford it. I appreciate everyone that has loved my dad and treats him with respect and dignity, because I know what he's gone through in the past and I will never allow anyone to treat him less than the best. Thank you.

How bad is covid here

It appears there is resistance among the staff to get the vaccine. My mother got COVID and then also received the vaccines. This could have been prevented if the staff were vaccinated. It is better now.
