I love my house. I think and I hope my house is built with quality. However, the contractors that Clayton hires have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. The man who did the foundation work and laid the pipe for our water and sewage lines broke several codes. The sewage tight line and water line were laid in the same trench, see picture. These should be a minimum of 10 feet apart. Our footers, which should be 10 inches, we’re poured from 7.5-9 inches, pictures as well. I contacted environmental services and they advised Clayton they had to redo the water and sewer lines. The reps at Clayton have no idea what the codes are and tried to tell me those pipes could be laid in the same trench. As well as telling me that we can just add some concrete to the footers. I’m currently in contact with the state building inspector, review will follow on footers. I recommend hiring your own excavator to do the grading and foundation work as well as laying any sewer and water lines. I also recommend staying in touch with the county building code enforcement and having them inspect it at the integral steps. Clayton homes definitely cuts corners by cheaply hiring rookies to do this imperative work.

I would give 0 stars if possible. 10/10 do not recommend! Go somewhere else! Our doublwide was supposed to be done by late Dec/early Jan with 30-90 day set up after that and we are now over a year in and our home isn't remotely ready! We paid a small fortune for a deck on back for entertainment and showed a picture of what we wanted and left a drawn picture with dimensions and noone even called before they started and asked to meet so deck is completely wrong and ugly and will have to be completely redone at a later date and will cost us even more money! Luckily we just asked for a basic porch on front for now so it's ugly as well but serves the purpose. Added in a garage that should have held 2 cars and had room for storage which is absolutely false advertising because with 2 cars there will be no extra room in that garage! Nothing is leveled unless it was necessary for them so we will have to hire someone else to come out and level everything to even have walk ways to get inside the house. $323,000 for a basic double wide, decks, and garage; as of now our only choice is to settle as is and put even more money back into the house and decks to fix imperfections inside as well as correct the decks to get what we wanted because our house is sold and we have to move as soon as we can. Went from being super excited about our new home to just absolute disappointment and dread of even moving into it so that's probably the same outcome to expect if you put your faith in this place. If you choose to use them I hope your experience is better than ours has been

Attention if you have gotten a Clayton home in the last year. I'm not sure who wires their dishwasher, but mine completely stopped working. I called and had a tech come look at it. The tech stated it was only by the grace of God that my house didn't catch fire. The dishwasher was wired wrong, and it burnt the wire. It didn't even trip the breaker.
