Cute little county zoo, not really exciting though. Right across the street is a fantastic park.

This zoo is a Bergen county secret entertainment center. It's a year round facility within the Van Saun county park. The park is fantastic in that, besides the zoo, it has a tennis center, pony rides, carousel, kiddie play area, ball and soccer fields. Loads of picnic tables, benches, fishing pond, open spaces and, I believe, 12 main parking lots. The zoo is probably the biggest single draw. It has a narrow gauge railroad that circles the entire zoo. It's parking lot is often full, but there are others nearby. Best to visit on weekdays when it is relatively uncrowded. Not as many animals as in the big city zoos but this one is nice in that you can get around the whole thing without wearing yourself out. Lower rates for Bergen county residents but the prices for everyone are a bargain. No restaurants in the zoo or park except, possibly, a food truck in the zoo area on the weekends and perhaps an ice cream cart.

The only detail is people should not smoke especially near children

Regular hours , the only day the Zoo closes is on Crhitsmas day. ... have fun !
I pay $2 because I'm disabled. It's one of the best places I've ever been. Truly love it there.
Adult ticket price $ 7 dlls, per child $ 4, train or carrousel cost $ 1.5 per person. Residents are cheaper I do not remember it cost.
No. However, when the budgie exhibit is open you can feed them the zoo's seed sticks.
It says hours may differ if you look under the time section
No one asked us for the vacine
There is a gift shop with some snacks and a few vending machines. There's usually a food truck in the parking lot. They don't have a cafe or anything.
What Patton said. You can purchase tickets online and show them to the gatekeeper and walk right in.
I'm not sure, but I would assume that as long as you provide proof that you served or are serving they will honor it.
Tickets are available at the door. Bergen county members get discount as well.
Yup, train, carousel, zoo and the ice skating rink
Sadly, noone working there knew of their Reopening Date. From the outside you can see the birds 🐦 and some other animals by the petting zoo 🐑 as well as the worker's taking care (feeding) them. In the Garden area there are a lot of Chipmunks 🐿 and in the ponds there are Geese 🐾 Ducks🦆and Fish 🐟 Really nice at Van Saun Park.
I was there yesterday and it was closed 😢
no it's closed
in season yes out of season no
It's a fun short walk
Amen, we could only use the train because they were already closing, for three adults and a girl, we paid $4.50 for everything
Adults are $8, kids -$5, seniors - $2, Train and Carousel are $1.50 each - per person....bring cash for them
It is not free. Adults live in Bergen county are 4 dollars. Above answers are not correct.
Yes you can, there is a picnic area at the park, with tables and grills. No food allowed at the zoo, of course, but the picnic area is great and close to the playground
Also bison, elk, monkeys, llamas and 2-bald eagles.
Yes you can. Sometimes they check packages but not a food issue
no
Bergen county residents pay a few bucks less than others. Not expensive $5 or less
Not to the zoo.
Bergen county Zoo is very quiet, nice and clean. Its only around $8. But its not big zoo.
For residents of Bergen county it is $4.00, others $8.00
$4 for in-county residents (Bergen). And I think $8 for out of county.
