This is a great, smoke-free county park, featuring an improved walking trail on the length of the park from the pond at one end to the playground at the other. It contains multiple sports fields, picnic areas, a modern strength training circuit, a dog park, nature trails, and several bridges to cross Goffle Brook. It is landscaped and picturesque in the summer, with trees lightly shading much if the trail. In winter the hill at the southern end is popular for sledding.

Don't really know but I did see people there with blankets and little bit of food. I was there for a 1 year old party and she had to pay for a permit
That's the only parking area near playground. There was another playground on the otherside of the park by turf field but they tore it down for more parking. There's also a few parking spots at top of hill on goffle brook road but a 5 to 8 min walk to playground.
Angelica what exactly do you want to do at the park requiring a permit is it a sports activity, is it for public protest, is it to Raleigh for or against the offensive Hawthorne police officers but not the department chiefs or lieutenants? Is it a family gathering please be clear as to the purpose for what you believe a permit is necessary and will guide you accordingly. All the best, GOD BLESS dv
Grills are available in the picnic areas to be used by anyone. However, I do believe a permit is needed if your group is over a certain number of people. Check the passaic county website for details.
