They're closed because of Covid, which is annoying in and of itself, but whatever. The lady who finally answered the phone acted like I was bothering her and transferred me to someone else, which happened to be an answering machine, without even answering my question or saying she was transferring me. All I asked was how do I get my evidence for post-divorce name change to the office if I can't bring them in person, do I need copies or originals, how do I get acceptable copies, is there a drop box or through the mail... Basic stuff.

I did mine online. You can’t make an account for a child under 18. I finally spoke to someone and they said I don’t need an appointment. However, the stuff I need to bring I have to wait till he gets a valid school ID. 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I would give the Newton ssi office a call have them tell you what you need.
2 ways if you have a computer you can do it on-line which is what I did or call Newton ssi office and make a appointment.

SSA Newton NJ office is 'by appointment only' but phone message does not give option to set up an appointment. Can I speak to a live person representative over the phone or make an in person visit appointment?
