The price was low and and the location was good. The folks were nice. The room smelled strongly of bleach, despite the floor being sticky and dirty. There were smoking areas with ash trays beside each non-smoking room door. The AC was cold and the bed was fairly comfortable. This could be a lovely place with some TLC. We saw quite a few ants and a few caterpillars in the room.

This hotel is technically in Whittier but you are just minutes away from anywhere in Cherokee. The people are super friendly and they let you check in earlier than any hotel I have ever been to. We just met up with the rest of our party to have a base of operations and never expected to get into our rooms at 10 o'clock in the morning. They have cabins as well for a reasonable price, we would have gotten one but we just didn't know. We only went here because all the hotels in Cherokee were booked up for Memorial Day. They have a play area for kids beside Soco Creek which is pretty cool It will definitely be out go too hotel from now on.

Me, my aunts and my cousin took my handicapped grandmother for Mother’s Day. We got there and got her settled after they messed up and gave us the cabin with about 5 steps Instead of two. They finally moved us to the right cabin. The floors were filthy black and sticky. The shower had soap scum build up and the drain was nasty. The bed covers on one bed were clearly not washed from previous customers they had makeup on the pillows, hair on the sheets and pillows and bugs. They finally brought new sheets and blankets that smelled terrible. The maintenance/ security brought the covers and we told him our issues and he proceeded to tell us he was on trazodone and he was coming down and he was to frustrated to deal with us. He told us we could leave if we didn’t like it. We told him it wasn’t possible to up and move my grandma at 1:00 am after we just got her settled. The dryer wouldn’t work. The hot tub stopped heating up. The light in the bedroom would flicker and flicker. The floor coming in to the bedroom from the porch was dipping in when you stepped on it. The coffee pot was filthy. The cabin overall needs major cleaning and a good maintenance. I will say the view from the back porch is really nice. The cabin definitely had some potential to be a good little spot if it was cleaned and maintained properly.

I loved this place. It is beautiful. And the bed had the most amazing mattress that I barely left it, which was not my intention, at all. With the casino right down the road, I had planned on playing more. Lol. Instead, I caught up on all the much needed rest I had not realized was so overdue. Therefore... I was definitely a winner. 😁 The staff really makes you feel like family. Kim and her crew run a very welcoming place to stay when visiting Cherokee land. I sat by the water, in the sunshine, to relax and journal, hence the photo. Thank you, Qualla motel and cabins... I look forward to visiting again soon! Gratefully, Jean Niemeyer
