The salmon River Outpost used to be called the Somes bar general store.I have seen the store change ownership four times in my day,and yes I love that store.But with a struggling economy and the COVID-19,the Salmon River Outpost is having a tough time staying in Business.I hope the present owner understands just how important, and how special the store is to our community,the store is part of us. Surprising store, in the middle of nowhere you can find good product for fair prices, as all little store most common product are a bit expensive but look well and you'll find alternatives of what you need. That's what this place has to offer, Choice!

I watched this store go through a few owners when I was growing up and the current owners are great. They do their best to source locally and have organic options. People drive from Orleans to shop here even though they have their own store.
