I went to get my gender marker changed and I'm glad I had done ample research as the person at the information desk gave me outdated information. When I told her that the law had changed (months prior) she seemed annoyed with me, she also appeared somewhat uncomfortable helping me even though it is a basic aspect of her job.

Had an amazing experience at the Newport DMV this week. Every person working there was smiling, kind, supportive, helpful and encouraging to my first time driver and the other customers. They really seemed joyful in their work and went above and beyond to make it a good experience. Can’t thank them enough!

For drivers tests etc. Yes.
You can go to the town you were born to get your birth certificate and you can call the ss office and tell them you dont have a ss card any more and they will walk you through the process. I had my last name change to my dads and it made it all messed up for me too. I hope this helps
They prefer you make an appointment, but they will handle walk-ins. Note that those with an a appointment will be given priority.

The real ID replacement requires no extra information, simply go to the DMV and request a replacement as you would for a regular license. My husband is the license examiner.
