I don't mind filling out the paperwork for assistance, but I believe that Wayne Metropolitan Housing Authority applicants should be better informed about the point system that's used to determine their place on the waiting lists. I feel like they're just trying to brush me off when I call them!

You know I've been homeless sleeping in my car or here and there and also was on there waiting list for 2 years did everything I was supposed to do and still got nothing. What do I need to do push a shopping cart around and have a pocket full of money for them to help me?

Get on the waiting list asap, and they can also refer you to other agencies that will help you right now.

You cannot transfer your application from one county waiting list to another. You are welcome to apply in our office Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Please bring all Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards for everyone you will list on the application and photo ID for anyone age 18+. Proof of pregnancy if pregnant, proof of social security benefits if anyone is receiving, and proof of veteran status if anyone listed on the application is a veteran.
