If you're having any kind of emergency I would not suggest going to this hospital if you want to live! Besides the most ridiculous and horrid reviews I've read by others my daughter was brought here because it was the closest emergency room to where she was. Our mistake! We brought her in for severe abdominal pain she was given a pelvic exam printed out paperwork and told they will call her and one to two days with the results and a prescription! This place is completely useless in a waste of my time and if I end up bringing my daughter to another hospital because they didn't do what they should have I'm going to review again

Absolutely horrific!!!! This supposedly Dr. Justin Gauthier is a joke. Saturday my brother was rushed to hospital by ambulance from a jet ski accident. Dr. Gauthier assessed my brother and did X-rays. He ended up having a collapsed lung and broken rib. They inflated the lung and gave him meds and sent him home. Two days later he had issues breathing and goes in for checkup. They immediately rushed him in as the same doctor said they misinterpreted the xrays on Sunday and that his lung was actually 80% less functioning. He stated they missed his failing lung because it was his good lung that overshadowed the bad lung. Dr. Gauthier now has one arm in a sling. He does an emergency procedure sticking a rod in my brothers chest with only one arm operating. The nurses asks to assist and he refused their help. He misjudges the rod and jams the rod deeper into my brothers chest. No meds, no prior announcement that he was doing such a thing. As he struggled with positioning my brother is in pain. Another doctor ends up coming in and taking the rod out because it was done incorrectly. Doctor Gauthier over compensated for only having one arm. The second doctor said it is not correct and restarted the job for Gauthier ending the procedure successfully. My brother was moved to the emergency room to the ICU for the next two days. I am Very disappointed and dissatisfied with attention to detail, non-ethical behaviors, lack of customer care and lack of knowledge, and absolutely discomforting. I will never suggest Westerly Hospital for the mere fact that my brothers experience was very very bad. He is uncomfortable and uneasy about the whole experience. It is so bad, we will now be going to L&M hospital where the second doctor was actually from. Thank goodness he was just helping in Westerly at the time!

Scariest day of my life, wife injured at misquamicut beach. Staff was attentive and very comforting. Great people helped stabilize my wife. Ty everyone at Westerly so much

Older female ER receptionist is SO RUDE :( If in order to do your job it requires you to be extremely unkind to people who are suffering this only reveals that you are not the right person for this job.
