Was once to an in-patient rehab facility about 6 years ago. Currently a NYC DHS Adult Family (Clients must be 18yrs+with at least 2 people on a joint case) homeless shelter. Non-cooking facility with 3 meals served at specified times each day. Must share a bathroom. Very few rooms with a private bathroom; those rooms are designated for clients with special medical needs. You can hear the subway along with the noise of planes taking off & landing at JFK Airport from inside the building day&night. Too many people smoke in their designated rooms despite the "No Smoking" in the facility rule & constant reminders from staff & security. More info to come..

Yes. You have to go through a metal detector&have all bags searched&scanned through by a ProCORE Security Guard Each&EVERY time you enter the building. Any weapons found in your belongings or on your person are removed & held by security until NYPD officers can respond to the building they are turned over to the Police for processing (guns, knives, blades, brassknuckles, razors, etc.) Also, Security guards posted at the entrance to the facility stand behind the x-ray machine will also check any bottle brought into the facility. All Alcoholic beverages & Liquor must be consumed before entering.
Not alot of strict rules just one you cant bring hot food upstairs or if you bring food Make sure you have a bookbag to put it in like chinese or any store bound snacks theres a bathroom you share with neighbors no friege bathroom in the room and your neighbors on the other side the curfew is 10:00 the lastest to get in is 10:15 and you half to sign the bed sheet by 7:00 the lastest to sign it is 9:00 expection 2 times a month out of the blue
The facility is safe, I am a sec shift sup, it is part of my job to make sure it stays that way. The community is no worst or better than Coney Island. Alot has changed and is changing. On the train, it takes anywhere from 1 1/2 to almost 3hrs depending on the time of day.
NO THIS IS A ADULT FAMILY SHELTER , YOU WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A SINGLE MEN SHELTER
Adult families.
I believe they have security placed on every floor. Not sure if they are with DHS
Yes they do
Take the A train to beach 90th st transfer to shuttle to 67th st walk about 3 mins your there.
They have chefs that prepare the food now
No it isn't.
Is the area crazy?
Go to AFIC on 30th street in manhattan. You have to go.thru intake and you get placed to.a 10 day conditional placement. Make.sure you have proof to where u was living for the pass 2 years or somethinng close to it. Have witnesses ready to verify where they saw you at and if they seen you homeless. Have as much info as possible for proof. You're going to.need it. Also, make sure to have proof of every single thing and ave witnesses that can say they saw you homeless. The more info.you have the better.
