They fixed the rfid card reader that was broken since the last couple times I visited. Before, that stall was "app only" until fixed. It's a little deceptive that the chargers are called Evolve NY when in reality Shell owns and manages them, but they try to shrink the Shell logo on the stalls to hide that fact. The (usually) optional app is also called Shell Recharge. It makes me feel bad to support a fossil fuel company. However, this is the fastest charger near me and EVGo, despite matching energy spent with 100% renewable energy, is much slower for my vehicle's charging capabilities.

I have a Prius hybrid with 25 mile capacity How long would it take to charge and what is the cost ?

Hi Dorit, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately Prius Plug In Hybrids are not able to fast charge, as Toyota doesn't allow that. So this means that at our site here you wouldn't be able to charge, as our Lagrangeville site is fast charging only. However, your Prius can plug into a "Level 2", or slower-charging site - which you can locate using plugshare.com. Hope this helps! -Matt

If you commute can you plug in overnight?

Hi Eriks, Thanks for your question. The short answer is no: these stations are meant to recharge vehicles in 15-30 minutes, for people that are charging in town, or on longer highway travel, in which they need to get back on the road quickly. If one plugged into this station overnight, the car would recharge very quickly, then sit idle (plugged in, but not charging) for 6-8 hours, which may prevent others from using that particular unit. There are slower-speed public chargers meant for overnight charging (in addition to home charging, which is a great solution for those that can take advantage of it), which you can locate using at: https://www.plugshare.com/ . Additionally, if you are commuting to/from this area, and need a quick recharge, then this fast charging station is a great option. Cheers, Matt EVolve NY Team
