Callen-Lorde Chelsea is the best place for your medical needs. Things has gotten hard to program any appointments after the pandemic. They are not to blame. Therefore, I'm a understanding patient. This pandemic has changed everything around.

You are safer dying of illness than being a patient at Callen-Lorde. It took me 6 months, from the time I first contacted Callen-Lorde's offices, to receive an intake appointment. During this appointment, my doctor (Kate Bautista) repeatedly touched my thigh without asking and made unprofessional comments about my appearance. She made notes of my prescriptions in my chart, but did not request for them to be sent to my pharmacy, and did not tell me this. I lost almost a week of work, while in a rapidly deteriorating physical and mental state, due to not receiving my medications, just to sit on hold with Callen-Lorde, all day, for days in a row. Their offices are severely understaffed. The staff they do have is utterly incompetent, withholds information, and seemingly refuses to reach out with urgent updates regarding your care. After probably at least 20 phone calls (none of which resolving my urgent situation) finally, I made time to go to their Chelsea office in person, where I waited at least a full hour, before receiving the wrong prescription. When I got home, I noticed this and I called the Callen-Lorde pharmacy, where I spoke to a man named Peter, who told me that my doctor prescribed me the wrong items, and that I should use the incorrect items anyways, despite all medical literature I read telling me it would be unsafe. You are safer dying of illness than being a patient at Callen-Lorde.

I had an appointment for today at 11am. I got a call at 9am that the provider called out sick and his next available appointment wasn't for another month and a half. I laughed and hung up.

Great place but be careful with therapy here , been pushing people into medication more than actually helping . ( literally was told by a therapist that they couldn’t help me till I saw a psychiatrist , Usually it’s not suppose to be like this , has gotten more white washed in the couple of years and some staff have gotten attitudes when asked certain things . Still a great place overall for help but let’s be honest it’s changed .

Yes
Honestly I cannot tell you that. I myself had a situation which was highly unprofessional and in my opinion should have resulted in termination. I spoke to several ppl and you get the usual "I'm sorry that has happen to you." "Thay should not have happened." Etc. But nothing was ever done. They even try to set me up with the same person after I specifically asked them to put a red flag up on my profile so it's known to not set me up with the person and they did. It is and was traumatic. I am noticing now that they do not always listen to the adults as they do the teen program kids as I was once.
+ clean your voicemail box. It's always full and unable to record any messages for unanswered calls
Yes, you can

No... They will give you a referral to an ENT specialist in the area.
Indeed, Callen-Lorde is making appointments for Lady Covid LaShay...via their "portal".
Not exactly sure, but I saw an article yesterday saying to the governor of New York is expanding the vaccinations to people 75 or older and essential workers as early as this week..
Yes. But it's like 3* of 5* max..
Hi Kyle - Unfortunately we are unable to accept new patients at this time. Please check back on our website for updates. Please check with our friends at apicha if you still need care.
CL opened again the intake of patients. If you want to start services there go to the 6th floor and ask to speak with a RAP Case Manager so they can help you with all needed to transfer your case. Regarding the PCP, that is possible as long you have government health insurance since they don't accept private insurance.
A state id or IDnyc works best
You can call the call center or come in and make the appointment.
I'm not sure what you're asking.
Yes
Yes they do treat minors without insurance for free it's called the hott program
Can walk in Saturday for HIV and STD testing. Or can walk in during the week but you will be meeting with case management, and reffered to their sexual health clinic which may not be same day.
You'll be able to find a kind, understanding and knowledgeable primary care provider. They also have a lab on the first floor along with a pharmacy. Everyone I've worked with at Callen-Lorde has been wonderful. Definitely recommended.
Yes, you can
