Excellent service and food

I like old-school diners serving classic good food at decent prices, but this place is not one of them. The coffee was undrinkable. I had to ask twice for Splenda. The cream containers had not been refrigerated. The hash browns were greasy potato slabs. The omelet was small with cheddar on top instead of inside and the "butter" for the toast was like a rock. And the place was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. Dust covered all the old junk, right above where we sat. The floor was littered with food, paper, and whatever else was dragged in from outside. I do not know how this place could pass health inspection, if D.C. even has health inspection. Retro is cool, filth is not.

It is as advertised! Be sure to bring cash and order the Maternity sandwich (BLT with cheese and egg). Waffle was really good, and the home fries were literally just a sliced potato that was roasted (really tasty).

Great, classic American diner. The huevos rancheros was exactly what I was hoping it would be.

Yes, we have several options but please note that much of our food is prepared on the same flattop grill so cross contamination may be an issue if you have a severe allergy.
We practice social distancing by limiting access to our indoor dining space, masks are required and we sanitize all surfaces between customers.
Yes, we are open for our normal hours. We're about a 10 minute walk from the Eastern Market Metro and about 15 minute walk from Union Station.
