As a total newbie to firearms/shooting, I turned to On Target for their expertise as recommended by a friend in law enforcement. I took the 3 hour course which was very educational and left me with a lot confidence in safe and proper shooting. After renting and trialing out different guns to target practice with, I then purchased my first 9mm with them as I wouldn’t give my business to anyone else after working with the impressive staff. These boys have taken great care of me, despite my amateur status and numerousss questions. Owner is well decorated, retired officer with great background, knowledge and experience. I enjoy my time there every time I stop over

As a sportsman and hunter my entire life, and going to thousands of gunshops nation wide . I honestly can say this is one of the sorriest excuses for a gunshop I've ever been to. #1 the gun and ammo selection is very limited, a few AR15s and a couple shotguns and handguns. Parts and accessories for guns, very little. #2 the shooting range rules, ridiculous. $18 per hour to use the range of 25 yards. I wasn't allowed to bring my AR15 into the range because of the only reason that it had a detachable magazine. #3 , I reload my own ammunition and while I understand no reloads in the range for insurance reasons , I was not allowed to keep my own rifle brass from my bolt action rifle. Even though every shell I ejected went right into my hand, I had to throw them into the range, so I couldn't reuse them. So that is more profit for them. #4 the staff , the whole time I was in there all they did was stand around with their arms crossed and try to look intimidating. My advise to any real gun guys like me, stay as far away from this gunshop as possible , I've never seen a gunshop that is so pro NY safe act as this one. Honestly, I got a better selection and service from the pawn shop down the road from them.

Nope, you can only shoot handloads and the ammo they sell.... That's a joke, yes, bring your own ammo.
You can shoot rifles their. They have a no reloads or steel core limit. Size i believe is up to .300.
There are exemptions by NYS Law for children between the ages of 12-17 for shooting rifle or shotgun and between the ages of 14-20 for shooting a pistol. Both require a parent or guardian (guardian must have in writing from the parent a permission letter) over the age of eighteen with a hunters ed safety course. For children between the ages of 14-20 to shoot a pistol, the parent or guardian must be at least 21 years old and also possess a NYS pistol permit. Unfortunately no. Eric is correct it is a safety hazard at a public range. So we have people just sweep it forward of the firing line after they are done being curtious to the next shooter. Thanks for the inquiry.
