This place is off the main tourist route. Wilderness area, ATV and horse trails mainly with a couple of covered picnic areas. The Swimming hole located on the map at the second gate is a decent gorilla kayak launch site into the St Mary’s River. 10 mile paddle to the next public take out called St Mary’s Cove. Beautiful black water creek and almost not human evidence or motor sounds. I love this place. 4 stars are because the road need improvements and kayak launch needs to be put in. Bathrooms need updated and cleaner. 5$ entrance fee.

Just a heads up if you run over 30" tires they won't let you in the gate, but a good place for the family to ride

Is the very cool area for ATVs and off-road vehicles as well as people wanting to see the river and float down it or canoe down it. $5 for your vehicle and everyone in it. We used it to put in floats to float down the river to our rental house that was downstream.

There are signs for horse trails only. Now do atvs still go down , yes sometimes.
Last time I was there the off road part was closed. The other part opens at 9am
I don't know for sure but one of my bikes isn't titled or insured and I've rode it out there many times. I've only seen one cop out there in the three years I've been riding there and he just waved. There are a lot of trails blocked off due to storm erosion right now though. The river is blocked off as well. But as far as title or insurance goes,I've never been bothered.
You can look online , no as far as there on site, most trails lead back to hard road for most part
Yes they are open Sunday. Hope this helps.
Yes, you can swim at your own risk. If the current isn't to strong
No Friday Saturday Sunday
A Lot of people fish out there. We ride 4 wheelers out there.
Park has been closed due to renovations. It is due to be reopened this Friday. Before travelling, you can review park status by viewing info on- line by searching St. Mary's Shoals Park. This site will give updates as to closing and openings.
They were working on them as of about 2 weeks ago. They might have them by now.
