It's not real close but you can walk there or they may do pickup. Its 1.5 miles on Sisson street. You can also take purple line or city link silver line public transit and a go straight down there within couple of blocks.

Listen the cheapest route is by bus and you can take the bolt bus or the megabus are greyhound and there are about $50 round trip are cheaper it's even cheaper than paying tolls and driving and takes almost the same time is a train. Amtrak is as expensive as flying. It can be about $200 round trip for more.

Yes. The personnel there will take you down to the train, get a plate for the gap between the platform and the train, then escort you to the appropriate seating. This applies to BOTH Amtrak and MARC trains. BUT, IIRC, it does NOT apply to the light rail streetcars - For the light rail, there is an elevator down to that level and a ramp for boarding the streetcars. HOWEVER, IF there are no Amtrak or MARC trains and Amtrak personnel are available though not part of their assigned duties, i have seen them help to the light rail also.

It looks like both the Acela and the Northeast Regional Amtrak trains run that route. Its a straight shot from the New Brunswick Amtrak station to Baltimore.

There is an Amtrak station almost in Edison called Metro Park, NJ. Many trains go directly from there to Baltimore and return making intermediate stops along the way. This includes the high speed Acela trains, too. There are many frequencies to check for all day, even weekends, too.

The day that I road the train there were severe delays. As usual when I do something it always goes to deal for me. There were floods and downed trees on the track in Jersey somewhere from a freak really bad storm. I ended up going to the check out counter and dropping an additional 200 dollars to take the Acela to New York City because they were running on time. Acela takes a slightly different path. Of course Acela is for rich people so naturally everything is always easier and better for them.

You can pick them up right out front or, the less congested, the smaller entrance/exit on Charles St. Looking at the front of the building, the Charles Street entrance is at your far left-hand side, facing out the side directly onto, (You guessed it) Charles St. ;-) Also, if you can park, you can arrange to meet them in front of the centrally located Guest Services/Information Desk.

There's also an outdoor lot behind the building for Amtrak. But if you're just picking up someone, then you can wait in your car on the side of the building, and if both of you have a cell phone, they can just call you when they're ready.
