So glad we stopped at this charming cafe! The quirky decor and eclectic atmosphere is great. Their eggplant fries and vegan tofu banh mi were delicious, as was the spicy vegan gluten-free brownie!

Beautiful spot. The outdoor sitting area is amazing. You have a few places to choose from. I order a mimosas which is beyond tasty, the pimento cheeseburger was a perfect blend of spicy and juicy. This place also seems to be dog friendly. Also got a side salad and their dressing is so tasty! Would recommend coming to this place!

We stopped at this lovely, eccentric cafe for my birthday meal today. The overall appearance was full of whimsical energy. The staff was delightful and we enjoyed our interaction with them and also experiencing their banter as they worked. We sampled the sweet potato curry soup. The perfect start to a meal on a rainy day! Some hand cut sweet potato fries were next. They were delicious and very well cooked. My wife had the curry chicken salad sandwich with salad, I had the brat (state fair style) also with a salad. We didn’t even have scraps left by the end of our meal. The flavor profile was a well balanced palette of savory and spice, leaning on local produce throughout: the buns baked locally, meats from named farms, greens and veg from local suppliers, even the honey being from a named local apiary. We finished up with a carrot cake and a cookie. Both were a delightful end to a meal that left us stuffed, satisfied, and definitely coming back to try more of this colorful menu!

This was cool little spot. The decor was neat, the idea is great and everything seemed really well put together. I will however have to say that I wasn't thrilled with the food as much as it's praised. I will not knock this trip as the service was quick, the food was just as it's described but something was just off with both the grilled cheese and the burger with pepper jack cheese. We will certainly go again, try something different and see if we can't pick something better or have them make it a little better but for now, I give them a 5 on overall astetics, location and variety and a 4 on food.

Yes. The Root Benny and the Shiitake Benny can both be gluten free. Also the omelettes and the tofu scrambler are gluten free. The eggs banh mi is gluten free without the hoisin sauce. Our granola is gluten free but our oats are processed in a facility that processes wheat. Eggs and toast can be made with gluten free bread that comes from Dempsey Bakery here in Little Rock.
I kind if agree with you Luther. I did notice the waiters or the help bringing food to tables outside were most unfriendly and seemingly not interested in engaging with patrons of the restaurant. I noticed it but ignored it because I just figured they hated their job. They did forget to bring me the bread pudding I paid for but they did offer to make that up next time i fly from California to Arkansas.
No indoor seating, thorough sanitization between guests, seating at a minimum of 6ft apart, no handheld menus, masks for all staff, masks for customers until served drinks.
You totally can bring dogs! They may ask you to sit outside. However, I have seen plenty of dogs sit outside with their owners at the root Cafe. They will even provide you with water for your dog!
Don't think so. Not 100%sure. Didn't see anything indicating that. Or heard of it.
No reservations. Usually a line, but it goes fairly quickly.
Yes they have gift cards :) Here's the link to the gift cards on their website https://squareup.com/gift/20FYV2TKZPD1H/order
I don't know, but their food is excellent.
