Great doctors/staff providing great care. Thankful I switched after years of rudeness & ineffective treatments att the other pain clinic (WSP). This clinic is the best in the Car area.y

Dr. Torres is an awesome doctor in my opinion. Has taken excellent care in managing my mother's back, neck and leg pain. Should I ever need such services I will definitely call his office.

My primary and pm doctors both retired and due to the medication I was on no one would see me. I was told I'd have to "just deal with the withdrawals" by 2 doctors even after telling them I almost died and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital when I tried to stop taking them myself. Thank God I found Dr. John Schmidt and Carolina Spine. Our second visit didn't go well but I could tell this was a doctor who actually cared so despite my horrible anxiety(PTSD) when it comes to doctors, I decided to see him again and we talked. Really talked and he listened. He gave me options other than just medicating me- nerve block shots, we're trying to get me approved for a spinal stimulator(think TENS unit but inserted into the spine somehow) and he understood that after being on the same medication for over 10 years, it was going to take some time to lower the dose. I was doing great at the dose I was on but Government decided everybody's pain is the same and everyone's an addict so I asked him to help him taper down. Unfortunately he feels that my medication should be handled by another doctor but he's still going to see me for the alternative pain relief options. Like I said, he actually cares. The nurses are so sweet. Very helpful. For example they try to get me in a room closer to the exit so I don't have to hobble far. Dr. Schmidt did this as well for a procedure even though they had to flip the room for me. Then we have the two ladies up front, Lori is who I usually talk to but I believe the other one is Gina?(If you see this please forgive me if I got it wrong!) Once again, above and beyond. You may have to leave a message if they're checking someone in but expect a call back very soon. They've helped me with everything they're allowed to help with and they're so kind and polite doing so. I hate asking for help but they will quickly come around that desk and help me get to my car. I was having a really bad pain day with a migraine and Gina sat there with me while I was crying just to be there for me. So again, if you have to leave a message- which hasn't happened often- remember they're doing more than most and give them a moment to call you back. I'm so thankful I decided to try one more doctor because I was extremely close to giving up. Chronic pain, dealing with it all the time, no sleep, no help can really mess with you but they try their absolute best to do everything they can. I've had an MRI, referrals for two more doctors. Dr. Schmidt listens and does his best to help her you out of pain, not just cover it with pain meds-things my former pm doctor never did. He will treat you with medication if he feels it will help but he doesn't just dole it out. Highly suggest Carolina Spine- just don't get a nerve block while you're still inflamed. That was painful!

Yesterday was my first time at Carolina Spine Center. I was there for a cervical injection and was a bit nervous. Every single person from reception to the nurses to the doctor were all friendly, kind and professional. I saw Dr. Bai and I can’t say enough good things. He was compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything to me before and after treatment. I felt relieved that I was in such capable, caring hands. Gary was in the room to assist Dr. Bai and he was just as nice and understanding. I would highly recommend Carolina Spine Center!
