From the moment I entered I was greeted warmly, surrounded by creativity and the invitation to indulge in my own. Each 'Newby' is joined by Bill, the proprietor, to be given a short, succinct and extremely helpful tutorial in lieu of having the best results as well as the best Fun. Located in lovely McPherson Square, this wonderful, cheerful place is safe and welcoming. The music is an eclectic mix played at the perfect volume to allow your spirit to register and enjoy familiar tunes without pulling your attention away from your creative flow. In fact, it encourages its Freedom. Bill and his sister are incredibly encouraging and attentive. Showing up at the perfect moment to refresh brush bowls and such. There is a wide range of potential projects affordable for all economic levels. The whole experience was restorative, refreshing and left me with a glowing, lightness of mind that lasted the entire weekend! Yesterday, just as Bill said, I received the call that my project had been fired and was ready for pickup. The happy feeling I'd had was rekindled to the fullest! I really hope everyone celebrating an event, looking for something different to do with friends, family, coworkers and even solo will visit 'Just Claying Around'! The experience is absolutely one of a kind!!!

A hidden gem in Fayetteville! Great staff. Good for a date, with friends or with your kids!

Just Claying Around is such an awesome family fun day! Such reasonable prices and with an incredible array of choices of pieces to paint. The owner is so kind and helpful! After coming with my daughter to paint a piece for her birthday, we came back today with a couple of her friends to let them all paint. Can’t wait to bring the whole family!

Hello Lee, We have all kinds of animal figurines for you to paint. Everything from safari animals, farm animals to household pets. The price for the piece of pottery plus tax includes everything, your paints, glazing, and firing. Hope you stop by to check us out. Stephanie
Ms. Puig we don't do classes, but we do have Gift Certificates. May I suggest you come by the studio and look around. This way you can see what is available and we can explain the way the studio works. Thank you Stephanie
The largest coffee mug we have is about 20 ounces. No appointments necessary, it is on walk in basis. Our hours are Monday through Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-5. You may want to call ahead and check because there are days that we do off site visits. We normally post them on our facebook page as well. We hope to see you and your son, sometime soon. Hope you have a wonderful day. Stephanie
I am sorry but we do not have the clay aspect in our studio. Our pieces are already formed and fired. They would paint it in the studio and get it back a week later. We would love for you to come and visit. Stephanie Penvos
No, this is a place where your go to paint ceramic.
Good Morning Karen, Yes you have the correct understaning of how the studio works. The price of the pottery plus tax includes everything. Then we call you when it is ready for pick up. Thank you for your interest, Stephanie
Mr. Simpkins, I am sorry to say we do not make the pottery. Everything is already formed. You pick your piece of pottery out, they are all individually priced, the price plus tax includes the paints, glazing and firing. We will call you when it is ready for pick up. Still a great date event, just not as hands on like you were thinking. Stop by and check us out to see if it is something that would interest you. Stephanie
Ms. Wallace are you using acrylic paints? If you are using acrylics no problem, because you would not bring it back to be fired. If it is glazes I am sorry to say, we do not take any glazes from outside our studio. There are compatibility problems. And what Mr. Mode stated is correct. If you have any other questions you can call us and we will be glad to see what we can do to help. Stephanie Penvose
Ms. McMichael, I am sorry to say we do not. I don't even know who to suggest. You could try at the college and see if their instructor could it.
No reservations are needed. It is a walk in basis, first come first serve. Unless you have a large group of about 6 or more then you may want to call and we can guide you from there as to availability. Phone number 910-487-9242
Tya, you can check out Fayetteville Tech. Institute. They have pottery classes throughout the year.
