Went in to get my antenna tested and my cb checked on as I had it tuned by someone else before and wanted to see how it was doing after replacing my antenna and they fixed what the guy before them jacked up. Decided to get myself a A10 antenna while I was there and thanks to the wonderful guys here I was able to make contact over 13 miles away. Definitely will come back if I am in the area and want to get some extra stuff done to my radio.

The starduster is a good antenna
This could be dirty controls. Take it in and they'll check it out and tell you.
Static is always there. you can't get rid of it with out losing range. Every electronic from cellphones to gas station signs puts off RF noise "static". If you turn up your RF gain the more range you get and more RF noise. Turn it down the less of both

It is not really that well you can use the small cable the larger cable is better for base stations if you're running an amplifier if you would like to have a base station amplifier you can email me trackhole 5 at yahoo. Com

Where you near, or or close to, need to check your antenna and coax with analyzer
Yes they buy old units and also do modifications if you chose to keep it instead
