Top notch, fantastic experience at True You! I did a lot of research on my journey to getting a Bariatric procedure. I learned about ESG (Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty) and found Dr. McGowan’s videos online. He was so knowledgeable and it was clear that he had taken time to master the procedure and his line of work. When I found out that other doctors were going to him for training on the procedure, it further solidified my desire to get mine done at True You. As I researched more , I saw that he had such high starred patient reviews and I can say that I now have experienced first hand why he is top rated. His entire team is so warm and friendly. Tesha went above and beyond to ensure my appointment was smooth. Laura, my nutritionist, acted in part like a much needed therapist and gave so much guidance on the nutrition side of things. Karen was such a wonderful nurse and put me at ease during my prep for General anesthesia. Dr. McGowan appears very smart and friendly online but he is even nicer, smarter and even more fun/chill in person. Overall , I had a fantastic experience from start to finish and I know that my journey towards my goals are attainable , because they are offering me all around support. I flew to NC for my procedure because I wanted the best to work on me and I am glad that I did. I have to say that his team is also splendid and the overall attitude and positive, patient centered vibe make them worth it. I strongly recommend True You Weightloss Clinic. If you are on the fence, I say go for it. You will not regret it!

Hi Yolanda, thanks for the question! It depends which procedure you are referring to. All of our procedures are non-surgical, though the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) does involve stitching the stomach from the inside with an advanced endoscopic suturing system. This does use a small needle to create the stitches. Other procedures, including intragastric balloons, do not involve needles. Hi Tanya! No, we have not experienced this, nor would we expect to. The suture material is completely inert and would not cause any type of reaction. Can the sutures be removed? Not easily. It wouldn’t be safe to remove them early on, and once everything heals they are largely within the stomach wall, making them difficult to identify and remove. Hope that answer helps!

Rosa, please contact us directly or visit our website to view our current pricing. Our revision package is all-inclusive (procedure, facility fees, anesthesia, and physician and dietitian aftercare). The procedure is outpatient, so you will return home or to your hotel (if you are from out of town) immediately after the procedure. We do prescribe several medications that you would take the first few days. These are typically covered by your insurance or would have a small out-of-pocket cost if not.
Currently, Medicaid does not cover our services. However, we have many financing options available, if needed. Thanks for the question!
