When the stairs in our home became too dangerous for my wife, we thought of downsizing but the housing market was not right for that. We decided to age in place and looked into elevators. Of the elevators we researched, the Stiltz DUO Alta was the easiest to install, least expensive and by far the most aesthetically pleasing option. The team swooped in and installed the lift without a hitch. They made sure everything was up to code and inspected by the local authorities. My husband is an amputee and this homelift elevator was the very best investment I have ever made. Our hot tub is in the lower den of our home and this makes it so very convenient to get to enjoy the hot tub more often, plus it goes out into our down level garden area and picnic area. Yes, in most cases the lift can be used down to a basement. Very low ceiling heights in the basement may mean some additional work, but most situations have a solution! It can also travel 3 floors as long as the total travel is not over 19'
