Hi Mary Ann, We do preventative maintenance and repair services! Prices for air cooled generators are $170 for single cylinder engines and $199 for two cylinder engines. Liquid cooled generators would be a different cost depending on size. You can contact our office at 716-648-7208 if you would like to set up an appointment.
Hi Janet, if the gas is turned off when the generator tries to do it's weekly exercise the generator will just safely shut itself off and you'll have to open the lid, hit the off button and then hit the automatic button to turn it back on and reset it. Otherwise, if the generator is not running during the time the gas is off it shouldn't have any issues. There is no pilot light for the generator, the only things you'd have to re-light would be inside the house if you have a pilot for your water heater or any other appliance inside.
