They demanded an ID for my debit card purchase of a bucket and 2 matchbox cars and when I didn't have it on me (hey, we're not all perfect and forget things) they refused the sale and were very rude about it. I can't even remember ever being asked for an ID on a purchase, let alone such a tiny amount. I'd imagine that has a lot to do with the fact that VISA prohibits merchants from requiring ID for purchases with their cards. We just went next door and gave big lots our money and got brand new cars instead. I'll also be reporting the violation to VISA.
